Permaculture is about taking meaningful action!
After making careful observation we can design systems with appropriate technology with a key focus on minimum energy usage with maximum effect and a maintenance structure for long term sustainability.
Permaculture design, while having a strong footing in agriculture systems also extends to other design including but not limited to architecture, community and landscape planning, energy systems and others.
Urban Hijau is a planned sustainable social enterprise, using permaculture as a means to unite people, generate profit and preserve the planet simultaneously.
Urban Hijau is more than just a simple garden, it is an attempt to be a real-life showcase of sustainability in the middle of the city. Located in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI), this social enterprise manages a unique half-acre acre site that produces organic fruits and vegetables for the wider community while educating them about the practices of permaculture.
During the Farm tour we will showcase different plants, tastes, smells and other elements we have in place. Some of the key elements recently added include:
Rain Water Harvesting
Water irrigation system (In progress)
Nursery Set up
Join us to learn about these different systems at the farm within this beautiful urban site.
